This recipe is a homemade hydrating, recovery, and electrolyte drink for after or during a workout. So, all of you hot yoga fans, running fans, spinning enthusiasts, swimmers, ballers, and dancers can reap the benefits from this delicious concoction and it can be done in a matter of minutes.
Hydrating your body hydrates your brain, your muscles, your guts, your skin, your life. This hydrator also kicks butt against inflammation, oxidation, and fatigue. It does even more than just that though, it’s also cheap, so it saves you money honey. Lastly it’s a great natural alternative to all of the junk out there. There is nothing artificial in this recipe and that’s a treat because the store bought electrolyte drinks are a mess. We won’t go into the brand name details but the plastic, the colours, the sugars, the preservatives, basically put… the insanity!!!
Whoa La, let’s all calm down and begin the recovery.
Ingrédients :
- 1 litre Cherry juice (Contains plenty of potassium and is a known anti-inflammatory).
- 5 Capsules 200mg Magnesium Bisglycinate (relaxes the muscles, regulates the heart).
- 2 teaspoon Vitamin C Crystals (Vitamin C is skin food and an antioxidant).
- 2 teaspoons himalayan salt. (Replaces the salt you lose through sweating).
- 3 cups chilled green tea. (increases metabolism, is a great anti-oxidant, and contains L-theanine a mind relaxer)
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup (this is optional however it adds more minerals and sweetness)
This recipe makes 2 litres: You will need to store half in the freezer and half in the fridge. I like 250ml jars for pretty much everything, plus I will re-use the cherry juice jar.
You will need a very large jug, about 2 litres.
You will need a blender.
- In a small bowl combine the magnesium, salt and vitamin c crystals.
- Add the maple syrup to make a paste.
- Mix your green tea with the cherry juice in the jug. Pour half of that into the blender.
- Add the vitamin paste to the blender and blend it on low for about 15 seconds.
- Pour the blended juice mix back into the jug and stir.
Now you can pour your hydrator back into the cherry juice bottle and individual jars. Make sure to leave about an inch of room left in the jars so you can freeze them.
You will have a one week supply of hydrator available and another 4 jars waiting in the freezer. This drink is concentrated so when you drink it add water to taste and a ton of ice. This recipe makes 8 drinks total containing: 125mg of Magnesium, 260mg of Potassium, and 1000mg of Vitamin C.
