It’s time to get down to business. It’s time to pull up those boot straps, trudge through the snow and save some cash. Save some cash? And how’s that now? Well, if you are like many of us who work here at the Bleuet then you probably eat protein bars instead of cake or cookies. And if you are like me, you need one of those with a piping hot coffee around 3pm each and every workday. Hot coffee, sweet snack, what could be better. Honestly, the only thing better than that is eating a homemade mega healthy protein bar that saves you $4 a day with a piping hot made by hand coffee.
So off we go to nickle and dime it………..
What you need:
- 1 cup natural peanut butter
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp coconut oil (optional)
- 2 scoops protein powder (stevia free)
- 2 scoops greens powder (stevia free)
- 1 cup quick oats
- 1 cup honey
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 14 year old tabby cat to watch your every move
Protein and Greens Note: My Choice is by far the Botanica Elevated Adrenal Support protein. It has 20g of easy to digest vegan protein per scoop with added 2000mg Ashwaganda, 470mg Acerola vit. C as well as 1500mg Reishi mushroom. So relax, this stuff is for keeping calm and trudging on. I also choose the Botanica Perfect greens because I just can’t stand stevia flavoured anything and they make an organic one filled with quality ingredients, no fillers. Plus both products have a neutral flavour that won’t make your bars all muddy.
Okay, onwards…….
- In a food processor add everything except the chocolate chips and coconut oil.
- Pulse for a while then blend until you have a nice dough.
- Press your protein dough into a parchment paper lined pan.
- Melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil lightly and slowly
- Once melted, pour the chocolate over your protein dough.
- Place in the freezer to set for 30 minutes
- Slice into 10 large bars
Ready Freddie!
Now you have your very own healthy bars ready to go. This recipe makes 10 bars, enough for about 2 work weeks for one person. So what does that save? That’s a potential $800 savings per year without skimping on quality nutrition. I like that, and I hope you do too dear clients.
